Weddings are a celebration of love, so do opt for romantic and feminine pieces to reflect the occasion. Styles in fabrics like silk, chiffon and lace are perfect.
Abide by the dress code. If a dress code is not mentioned on the invitation, refer to the venue to get an idea of what you should wear. For example, a short flowy frock would be appropriate for a wedding at the beach.
Think about outerwear, this is a definite necessity if the wedding you're attending is in the cooler months. Will a pashmina or waterfall cardigan do? or does the weather call for a tailored coat or jacket?
Not keen on dresses or skirts? Go for a jumpsuit, tailored two piece or matching set in a fun floral print or even spots or stripes!
A definite no no and should go without saying, stay away from white. This includes white lace, garments in solid white or ivory. Steer clear out of respect for the bride.
Wear anything you don't feel comfortable in - this goes for shoes and accessories as well. Comfort is key, you don't want it to prevent you from having a good time.
Feel like you have to wear a dress. For a more contemporary look, opt for a jumpsuit, pantsuit or matching set.
Avoid wearing very revealing or sexy outfits, that little black dress with the plunging neckline? Save your more daring styles for date night or girls night out.
